NEW MEXICO CANNABIS PATIENTS UNITS AND HOW THEY WORK.

The New Mexico MCP  allows patients to possess up to 230 units of cannabis every 90 days. This empowers patients to walk into any registered dispensary and buy a maximum of approximately eight ounces of medicine to spread across three months.1 gram = 1 unit, This means that 8 ounces equals 230 units. A patient can purchase 230 grams minus the number of grams they’ve purchased in the past 90 days. So, whenever a previous purchase becomes more than 90 days old, that number of grams will be available again.

UNITS FOR EDIBLES:

200mg of THC = 1unit. That means 1x 200mg chocolate bar = 1 unit.100mg of THC = .5 of a unit.

UNITS FOR CONCENTRATES:

1 gram of concentrate is 60.0% THC, move the decimal one place to the right making the total 600 or 600mg of THC. Divide 600 by the 200mg, that will be the formula to figure one unit. So this example will equal to 3 units. For a .5 gram of concentrate at 60.0%, follow the formula 600 divided by 200 = 3 then divide the 3 by 2 = 1.5, or 1.5 units for the .5g of concentrate.
